I recently got ultrasound of my thyroid only 1/2cm my neck swells sometimes .. my labs normal. Dr says only 4 percent or under cancerous and to repeat ultrasound in 4 to 6 monthsthat the nodule is too small to biopsy does all this information sound correct
Ultrasound findings suggests small nodule in thyroid gland.Since other findings like calcification, lymph node etc are not mentioned in the report,it can be assumed that these findings are not present. Since swelling is not accessible for biopsy then only follow up is the option. Generally these are benign lesions and only require follow up.Follow up scan is necessary to assess increase in size, appearance etc. It is good that lab tests are normal.
